FAO Announcement from ISCN President Paco

I am pleased to inform you that the FAO coordinator (Francesco Gibbi) has been visiting the Argentinean Ministry of Agriculture during this week and accepted my proposal to hold the RIAC/IANET workshop in Tucuman (Argentina) as the site for the RIAC/IANET workshop. Thus, those who have already taken their international travel flights, should not worry about changing dates, and will have the opportunity to participate in the RIAC/IANET workshop .

The plan is as follows: RIAC members will join our field visits the 15th of June, as ISCN Congress presentations on the 16th, and will continue on the 17th all day and maybe the morning of the 18th for final conclusions .

The FAO confernce may be using the Catalinas Park Hotel and the same halls oas the ISCN Congress, if an agreement on costs is reached. RIAC/IANET is negotiating with the hotel and local organization.

However, all participating in the POST-Congress in Chile, they need a full traveling day: from Tucuman to Buenos Aires, change to the International airport and take another flight to Santiago de Chile. There are no direct flights from Tucuman to Santiago de Chile, and the road route that was considered initially has been ruled by the distance (about 1500 km) and the risk of roads closed by snow and ice.

Please consult the Congress website frequently, which has been updated with Pre and Post Congress information.

Up to now 90 participants have been registered, so I hope to get around 250 to 300 in Tucuman. From AVASA we'll be 8 to 10 (Pre+C+post).

Paco
